As the race for the title of the 24th edition of Africa biggest club competition for men begin Saturday (today) at the sports hall of the Amahoro stadium, Kigali, Rwanda with the eight teams that made it to the knock-out stage have already been paired.

The odd favours a clash in the grand finale between the two Angolan sides, Primeiro dAgosto and Petro Atletico basketball club if the quarter-finals pairing are anything to go by.

This is an equally matched pairing giving the pedigree of both sides, though ASPAC basketball club of Benin Republic whose performance here which saw them losing only to defending champion, Primeiro dAgosto in group-B has continue to elicit positive reaction will attempt to take the Mazembe side to the cleaner.

One thing the ASPAC side has going for them is their ability to run down their opponent while the Kinshasha-based ASB Mazembe has not really established itself presence in the competition which saw it scrapping past Kano Pillars of Nigeria by 75-74 points in both side last group-A game Thursday. So a clash against and enterprising ASPAC side is a must watch for basketball fans in Kigali.

Players to watch: ASB Mazembe Mazembe will bank heavily on the ability of the trio of Mudiandambo Kayembe, Mbav Kabwit and Kantu Kubala to see them past the Cotonou-based ASPAC side who gets matured with every game.

ASPAC - The main anchor is youthful Nigerian-born Mohammed Bukar whose form has carried the team thus far. Bukar a member of the Nigeria U19 national team to the FIBA World Youth Championship in 2007 in Serbia has a heart of a player with more than 20-years experience in the game.

With 99 points scored by this youthful and enterprising off-guard, if he is in form Saturday then the DRC Congo side will surely have a lot of work to do.

Another player who has been very consistent in the ASPAC line-up is Abdoul Chabi is another reliable player that can wreck an opposition team if defended properly.
