ASA beat Interclube and sail to semi-finals - May 14, 2018

ASA sailed on Saturday to the semi-final of the National Senior Men's Basketball Championship (UNITEL Basket), after beating Interclube 95-88 in the third quarter-final match, played in the play- off at the best of three matches. Against alll expectation of many, ASA as a whole were dominant in the clash given the high level of concentration they presented. On the contrary, the opponent was fragile to defend, allowing ASA's supremacy in the opening quarter (24-12). At half-time, ASA were already winning the game by 53-37. In the semi-final, ASA will face 1 de Agosto.

Petro de Luanda squad last Monday qualified for the final of the top division National Basketball Championship after beating, in Luanda's Dream Space Pavilion, the Sport Libolo e Benfica team by 90-74, in the third playoff game (best of five) of the semi-finals. In the previous two games Petro de Luanda won by 87-70 and 69-61. Reggie Moore selected the top Angolan playing abroad in last week's games - 2 days ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Angolans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an experienced international power forward Reggie Moore (203-81). He could not help Galitos-Barreiro (17-16) in their last game. Despite Moore's very good performance the first-placed Galitos-Barreiro (17-16) was crushed 98-71 at home by the second-ranked Benfica in the Places 7-12 group.    [read more]

Petro de Luanda and 1 de Agosto won the semifinal openers in Angola. 1 de Agosto beat Atletico Sport Aviacao 84-79 in overtime. Petro de Luanda overcame Sport Libolo e Benfica 87-70.
