Parma Basket Perm (VTB) agreed terms with 26-year old Angolan ex-international center Yanick Moreira (211-100kg-91, college: SMU). He played last season at Naft Abadan in Iranian Superleague. Moreira also played for another team Raptors 905 in U.S. semi-pro league G-Leaguen that season where in 55 games he had 8.3ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5apg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Moreira was voted All-AAC Most Improved Player of the Year and NABC All-District 25 2nd Team in 2015 at his college time.
Moreira was also a member of Angolan international program for some years. He played for Angolan Senior National Team between 2010 and 2015 and previously for U18 National Team between 2008 and 2009.
Moreira also represented Angola at the World Championships U19 in New Zealand eight years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.0ppg, 5.3rpg.
Moreira has played also professionally in France (SPO Rouen), Spain (UCAM Murcia) and NBA (LA Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors).
He attended Southern Methodist University until 2015 and it will be his third season as a professional player.
On Moreira: A young center who protects the rim and grabs lots of rebounds. He is improving his ball handling, can score the ball with either hand and is expecte to become a top level player very soon.
