Lubango hosts Under18 national championships - Jan 18, 2017

Twenty two teams will compete on 19-28 January this year in Lubango city, southern Huila province, the 32nd edition of the national under18 basketball men and women's basketball championships. This was said to Angop on Wednesday in this city by the secretary general of the referred and spokesman of the sporting event, Diogo Gomes. The official said that the technical and administrative conditions all in place and the technical meeting is set for 6 p.m this Wednesday in order to define the schedule of the events that will take place at the Pavilions of Nossa Senhora do Monte and Benfica do Lubango. Diogo Gomes said that the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza Sul, Benguela and Huila (host) are confirmed to participate in the event.
The men's teams of 1 de Agosto (defending champions), Sports Club of Huila, Heja Sport, Sporting of Benguela, Recreativo do Libolo, Sporting of Sumbe and Formiguinhas of Cazenga will compete in the championship.
In women category, the teams of Inter Angola, Benfica Petroleio do Lubango, Personal House of Lobito Port, Inter and Sporting Benguela and Desportivo do Maculoso will participate in the event.

In a clash of unpredictable results, judging by the technical and tactical quality of the two teams, 1 de Agosto's players showed more determination to win the game, and at the half-time they were already winning the match by 45-40. This is the fourth time that 1 de Agosto beat Petro in this Unitel Basket.
