Carlos Julio reached two votes against the single vote obtained by the outgoing Leonor Almeida. The ceremony that took place at APBL headquarters, counted on the presence of only three of the five clubs with right to vote, namely 1 de Agosto, Vila Clotilde and Progresso do Sambizanga. Interclub and Benfica de Luanda missed the event. At the end of the ceremony, the head of the electoral commission, Lizete Neto, confirmed to Angop the victory of the referee who was recently at Rio2016 Olympic Games. She said definite result of the voting will be released on September 26. Carlos Julio, 44, announced he was quitting as referee this year, just after the Rio2016 Olympic Games.
