Moreira
Toronto Raptors tabbed 25-year old Angolan international center Yanick Moreira (211-100kg-91, college: SMU) for their training camp. He played most recently at UCAM Murcia in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 9 games he averaged 6.0ppg and 3.7rpg last season. Moreira also played that season for SPO Rouen in ProA where in four games he had 11.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.0apg. He also spent pre-season at the Nets that year.
Moreira has never been drafted by the NBA.
Among other achievements his college team won AAC Tournament in 2015. Moreira received also All-AAC Most Improved Player of the Year award and NABC All-District 25 2nd Team award in 2015.
He has been also a member of Angolan international program for some years. Moreira has regularly played for Angolan senior team since 2010 and previously for U18 National Team between 2008 and 2009.
He also represented Angola at the World Championships U19 in New Zealand seven years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.0ppg, 5.3rpg.
Moreira has played previously professionally in other NBA team (LA Clippers) and Angola (1 De Agosto).
He attended Southern Methodist University until 2015 and it will be his second season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Moreira's outlook: A young center who protects the rim and grabs lots of rebounds. He is improving his ball handling, can score the ball with either hand and is expecte to become a top level player very soon.
