Paulo Macedo has been announced as the new head coach for Angolan National Team. He will replace Jose Carlos Guimaraes . Paulo Macedo will prepare the team for the 2013 AfroBasket. He will be assisted by Walter Costa and Jaime Covilha. Paulo Macedo has previously worked with 1 De Agosto Luanda team. He was named All-African Champions Cup Best Coach in 2012. Luanda 1 de Agosto's senior males basketball team last Tuesday here beat Recreativo do Libolo by 101-93, in a game that closed this year's edition of the National Basketball Championship (Bai-Basket2013) and that was played in Rio Seco Pavilion.

National Basketball Team Starts Preparation in Bi Province - May 23, 2013

Luanda Angola's national men team of basketball that will take final shape on May 30 will start its preparation in central Bie province, ahead of the Afrobasket2013 set for August 20-31, in Cote d'Ioive, Angop learnt.

Luanda Angola's national men team of basketball that will take final shape on May 30 will start its preparation in central Bie province, ahead of the Afrobasket2013 set for August 20-31, in Cote d'Ioive, Angop learnt. Medical tests an administrative issues will be handled on June 03-14, whereas physical, technical and tactic preparation will start on the 16th in Bi. Meanwhile, the second phase of the training will start in central Benguela province on May 23, before returning to Luanda for the last training period. A period of friendly games will be held in Spain on dates still to be announced. The Angolan team will leave for the venue of the competition on August 17.
