Luanda 1 de Agosto's senior males basketball team last Tuesday here beat Recreativo do Libolo by 101-93, in a game that closed this year's edition of the National Basketball Championship (Bai-Basket2013) and that was played in Rio Seco Pavilion.
1 de Agosto, who before this match were already the early winners of the championship, totalled 22 points, followed by Recreativo do Libolo (defending champions) with 18 points, then Petro de Luanda (17) and Interclube (16).
In a different game of the final stage's last round , Petro de Luanda beat Interclube by 110-100, thus occupying the third place.

National Basketball Team Starts Preparation in Bi Province - May 23, 2013

Luanda Angola's national men team of basketball that will take final shape on May 30 will start its preparation in central Bie province, ahead of the Afrobasket2013 set for August 20-31, in Cote d'Ioive, Angop learnt.
Medical tests an administrative issues will be handled on June 03-14, whereas physical, technical and tactic preparation will start on the 16th in Bi.
Meanwhile, the second phase of the training will start in central Benguela province on May 23, before returning to Luanda for the last training period.
A period of friendly games will be held in Spain on dates still to be announced.
The Angolan team will leave for the venue of the competition on August 17. Angola will play Cape Verde, Mozambique and Central Africa Republic

Luanda 1 de Agosto need only two victories to conquest the national championship of basketball, with three games to be played.
With 16 points, 1 de Agosto in a case of one defeat will have 21 points, as their main opponents, Recreativo do Libolo has 14.
In case of two victories, 1 de Agosto will become champions totalising 22 points.
But if 1 de Agosto lose two games and Libolo win three the teams will have the same points, which means that they will have to play again to find out the champion of the 2013 season.
Recreativo do Libolo is the title holder.
