D1 Round 26: Leader GS Petroliers get another victory - Apr 5, 2016

Leader GS Petroliers delivered the twenty second win on Saturday night. This time they beat 9th ranked WA Boufarik (10-15) 69-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of WA Boufarik. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-3 record. WA Boufarik at the other side keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in B.B. Arreridj. Twelfth ranked Eleulma (7-18) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Arreridj (18-8) 65-64 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Arreridj. Eleulma moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Skikda and USM Blida. Arreridj at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Setif. Local USS (18-6) outscored 11th ranked USMB (7-18) 81-54 on Saturday night. USS have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser USMB dropped to the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Skikda and Eleulma.

Rest of the games of round 26 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Miliana defeated Oran in a road game 81-74. CRB Dar El-B. beat Skikda at home 78-60. Olympi Batna was destroyed by NAH Dey on the opponent's court 80-61. Staoueli managed to outperform Constantine in a home game 96-78.

US Setif - USM Blida 81-54

The game with biggest result difference took place in Setif. Local USS (18-6) outscored 11th ranked USMB (7-18) 81-54 on Saturday night. USS have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser USMB dropped to the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Skikda and Eleulma.

CRB Dar El-B. - Skikda 78-60

No shocking result in a game in El-Beida where second ranked CRB Dar El-B. (21-5) defeated 10th ranked Skikda (7-18) 78-60 on Saturday. CRB Dar El-B. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record behind leader GS Petroliers. Loser Skikda keeps the tenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with USM Blida and Eleulma.

NAH Dey - Olympi Batna 80-61

Rather expected game in Alger where 6th ranked Olympi Batna (14-11) was rolled over by third ranked NAH Dey (19-7) 80-61 on Saturday. NAH Dey have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-7 record having just two points less than leader GS Petroliers. Olympi Batna lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost.

Staoueli - Constantine 96-78

Very predictable result when seventh ranked Staoueli (15-11) beat at home 13th ranked Constantine (4-22) 96-78 on Saturday. Staoueli moved-up to sixth place. Constantine lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost.

SO Maritime Boulogne (ProB) inked 30-year old naturalized Algerian power forward Mehdi Cheriet (204-100kg-87, college: San Diego State). It is actually his comeback to SO Maritime Boulogne as he has played here before. Cheriet was about to sign at Chorale de Roanne Basket in the ProB. He has played there for the last three years. GS Petroliers celebrated 2016/17 title as they won both Final games against NA Hussein-Dey. GS Petroliers posted a 75-71 win in the opener and then won 94-61. Mohamed Seddik gave his team a 38-24 halftime advantage, while Faycal Belkhodja(192-G-88) nailed three for 64-32 lead.
