The game had a very big importance for second-ranked GS Petroliers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. GS Petroliers defeated 6th ranked Staoueli in Alger 78-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Staoueli. Undefeated GS Petroliers (13-0) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Staoueli at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Olympi Batna.
Bottom-ranked Oran (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-69 loss to third ranked CRB Dar El-B. (13-2) in Oran. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for CRB Dar El-B.. They moved-up to second place. Oran lost their seventeenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings.
The game in Setif was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Arreridj (13-4) played at the court of 5th ranked USS (10-5). Arreridj did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 77-60 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of USS.
