D1 Round 12: Leader GS Petroliers get another victory - Jan 11, 2016

Undefeated leader GS Petroliers delivered the ninth consecutive win on Friday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked WA Boufarik (4-7) 82-59 in Alger. Undefeated GS Petroliers (9-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Despite that victory GS Petroliers went down to second position due to points difference. WA Boufarik at the other side keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. GS Petroliers are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Oran (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. WA Boufarik will play against USS (#6) in Setif and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Oran (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 57-53 loss to seventh ranked Miliana (6-6) in Miliana. Miliana maintains seventh position with 6-6 record, which they share with Olympi Batna. Newly promoted Oran still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Miliana will play against higher ranked Arreridj (#4) in B.B. Arreridj in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oran will play on the road against the league's second-placed GS Petroliers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Batna was also quite interesting. Second ranked NAH Dey (10-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Olympi Batna (6-6). NAH Dey defeated Olympi Batna 61-51 on Friday. NAH Dey have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Olympi Batna dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Miliana. NAH Dey will meet Skikda (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olympi Batna will play against Staoueli (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 12 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Arreridj defeated Eleulma in B.B. Arreridj 65-55. Constantine was beaten by Staoueli at home 79-92. CRB Dar El-B. won against Skikda on the opponent's court 86-73.

Olympi Batna - NAH Dey 51-61

The game in Batna was also quite interesting. Second ranked NAH Dey (10-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Olympi Batna (6-6). NAH Dey defeated Olympi Batna 61-51 on Friday. NAH Dey have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Olympi Batna dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Miliana. NAH Dey will meet Skikda (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olympi Batna will play against Staoueli (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Eleulma - Arreridj 55-65

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Eleulma (3-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Arreridj (9-3) 65-55 on Friday. Arreridj moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Eleulma dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Skikda and USM Blida. Arreridj will meet Miliana (#7) on the road in the next round. Eleulma will play against CRB Dar El-B. and hope to secure a win.

Miliana - Oran 57-53

Bottom-ranked Oran (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 57-53 loss to seventh ranked Miliana (6-6) in Miliana. Staoueli will meet Olympi Batna (#8) on the road in the next round. Constantine will play against USMB (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

GS Petroliers - WA Boufarik 82-59
