FYR Macedonia achieve the second straight win at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. The European side overcame Algeria for 2-0 record in Group A. Algeria meanwhile dropped at 0-2 record. Algeria looked better in the first period and grabbed 26:25 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. FYR Macedonia meanwhile replied with a 17-14 rally and won the first half by two points. The third period was decisive in the game and brought 22-13 surge for the European side. Algeria tried hard to recover and even won the last stanza 28-25, but it was not enough to win the game. Aleksandar Kostoski (186-G-88, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up with 21 points for the winners and Dimitar KARADJOVSKI nailed 17. Sinisha Sinisa Avramovski (209-C-85) delivered 13, whilst Bojan Trajkovski (206-C/F-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) had 12. Mohamed HARRAT answered with 27 points in the losing effort, while Mehdi Cheriet (204-PF-87, agency: Fusion Sports, college: San Diego St.) scored 23. Turkey confidently started their 2013 Mediterranean Games campaign. The hosts shot down Algeria in the opener. Melih Mahmutoglu (193-G-90) delivered 17 points to lead the home side.

Angers Etoile d'Or St-Leonard (NM2) tabbed 32-year old naturalized Algerian point guard Ahmed Fellah (180-81). He started the season at Angers BC 49 (NM1). In 26 games he averaged 5.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 5.1apg and 1.3spg this season. The last season Fellah played also at Angers BC 49 (NM1). In 24 games he had 4.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.8apg and 1.0spg. Among other achievements he won French NM1 championship title in 2011. Fellah was selected to French ProA All-Star Game back in 2007. He represented France at the Pan Arab Games eight years ago. Fellah has played previously for six other France teams: Cholet, Besancon, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, JSF Nanterre and Entente Orleans 45.
