Cameroon - Senegal 58-71
Senegal outgunned Cameroon to enter the semifinal stage. Astou Traore (182-F/C-81, agency: ProDep Management) delivered 21 points to lead the winners. Senegal piled up a 32:20 halftime lead. They went on a 23:17 rally in the third term to clear off. Cameroon tried hard to narrow the deficit in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss. Oumoul Thiam (181-SG-90, college: S.Nazarene) delivered 14 points for the winners. Ramses Lonlack-Nimpa (172-SG-89, college: Memphis) netted 21 points and grabbed 9 boards for Cameroon.

Egypt - Mali 50-90
Mali outgunned Egypt to enter the semifinal stage at the championship. Naignouma Coulibaly (191-C-89) posted 16 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Mali recorded a 39:27 halftime lead. They went on a 26:8 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Fatoumata Bagayoko (170-G-88) delivered 14 points for the winners. Meral Abdelgawad (181-F-98) answered with 15 points for Egypt.

Mozambique - Angola 61-47
Leia Dongue (185-F/C-91) stepped up with 27 points and 14 rebounds to lead Mozambique to a surprisingly easy win over Angola in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Angola jumped to a 16:6 lead after ten minutes. Mozambique however bounced back with a 17:4 run in the next period to ensure a 23:20 halftime lead. They followed with a 22:14 run in the third term to boost the lead. Mozambique held Angola to just 13 points in the fourth frame and raced to the win. Elizabeth Pereira (170-PG-91) had 12 points for the winners. Italee Lucas (175-SG-89, college: N.Carolina) fired 18 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 6 steals for Angola.

Ivory Coast - Nigeria 43-98
Nigeria overwhelmed Ivory Coast to reach the semifinal stage. Evelyn Akhator (190-F-95, college: Kentucky) delivered 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Nigeria used a 23:2 run in the second term to take a 46:15 halftime lead. Nigeria unloaded 52 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. Ezinne Kalu (173-G-92, college: Savannah St., agency: GoaBasket) added 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Solange Bognini (178-F-97) netted 11 points for Ivory Coast.

Nigeria celebrate title in Mali - 7 months ago
FINAL Senegal - Nigeria 48-65 Nigeria clinched the title in Mali. They beat Senegal to capture the first AfroBasket Gold since 2003. Evelyn Akhator (190-F-95, college: Kentucky) posted 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the champions. Senegal recorded an 18:12 lead after ten minutes. Nigeria bounced back in the second term.
