The country boasts top level facilities.
The FIBA Africa U18 Championship is returning to Rwanda six years after it was last held there (2010). Twelve teams will do battle for supremacy in the age category in Africa but also to claim the two places on offer to qualify for the 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship that will take place for the first time in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo.
