Sousse 2013 28th ACCM: Primeiro retain title, beat Etoile 68-61 - Dec 21, 2013
Primeiro DAgosto basketball club of Angola Saturday evening defeated Etoile Sportive Du Sahell basketball club of Tunisia by 68-61 points to retain the Africa Champions Cup it won last year in Equatorial Guinea thus making it the most crown club-side on the continent.
With the win in Sousse Tunisia the Luanda-based side became the prize winner of the continent most followed club competition a record eight times (2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013) with three second placed record (1987, 2006 and 2011).
Primeiro who was propelled to the 2013 title by Cedric Ison who powered to a double double figure of 35 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assist won two out of the four quarters the tension soaked final game last (14-14, 15-09, 23-17 and 16-21).
The champion had a superb record on the board with 42-26 rebounds and had a slight edge in assist and steal (09-08 and 07-06) over Etoile Sportive Du Sahel whose only champions cup title to date was it 82-60 points victory over Primeiro DAgosto in Sale, Morocco in 2011.
