Uganda to host 2017 FIBA-Zone V Club Championship - 1 month ago
FIBA Africa Zone V board has awarded the hosting rights for this year's Club Championship for Men and Women to Uganda. The annual regional basketball competition, staged by member countries on a rotational basis, will be staged in Kampala in October; however, the official dates will be announced at a later date. FINAL Al Ahly - Libolo 68-66 Al Ahly have been crowned champions in Cairo. The hosts survived a dramatic title game against Libolo to dethrone the Angolan powerhouse. Markeith Cummings (198-SF-88, college: Kennesaw St.) stepped up with 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the winners. Al Ahly eked out a narrow 33:31 halftime advantage.
